THE PROCESS

if you would like a session, please send me a message through the contact tab or through email, and I will get back with you in one business day to plan the date, time, and location. Once we have those three things finalized, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is due to book your session. the other half is due the day before the session. After our session, please allow 7-10 days to receive your fully edited, high-resolution images. I put a lot of time and care in editing each one of your photos to make sure they are perfect. I then send the final images through a secure, online gallery. You will receive the link to the gallery through email. The gallery is private and easily shareable for your family and friends to see. In just a few quick steps, you can download your images to your phone and computer. Once you receive your gallery, we can discuss prints if you would like for me to print them, or you can take the photos to the print shop of your choice. I'LL SEND A COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM WITH YOUR GALLERY SO YOU CAN BE ABLE TO PRINT THE IMAGES YOURSELF IF YOU CHOOSE TO. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO PRINT THEM, the info is under the investment tab above.

WHAT I PHOTOGRAPH

I photograph maternity, families no matter how large the family, seniors whether it's a high school or college graduate, the will you marry me moment, your engagement session, your bridal session, and lastly, but certainly not least, your big day, the wedding.

 

 

POSES

I do candid shots as well as posed shots. I love to just capture people being themselves. I love to catch people in in the moment or unposed. That is what I call real life images. It's just you being you. Images have more emotion and meaning that way. However, I do posed shots as well. I will do my best to come up with creative poses that will bring out the beauty in your shoot and what will make you most comfortable and relaxed. 

 

 

LOCATION

There are many beautiful locations where I am located. Here is a list of the places where I typically choose to do my sessions: Heritage Park, VA Tech Duck Pond, Hahn Horticulture Garden, Sinkland Farms, Mabry mills, downtown Christiansburg, and Crosspointe conference center. I also travel a lot and take my photography on the road. If I shoot in the city and state you are from, there is a high chance I am not familiar with the area. Therefore, I will rely on you to choose a spot. If I am familiar with the area, I will make suggestions. I do not travel just to do shoots. If I happen to be in your area, I will gladly do a shoot.

BUCKET LIST PLACES

Because I travel a lot, there are several stunning locations that is my dream to shoot a session at. if you love near any of these places or are willing to travel, let's create some phenomenal pictures. Here is a lost of places: Forsyth park in savannah, ga, miramar beach in Destin, fl.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please refer to the MDP Style Guide below under "Resources" for tips on what to wear. HERE ARE A FEW OF THE MAIN POINTS I RECOMMEND: Wear neutral or pastel colors instead of bright colors, coordinate  colors instead of wearing matching colors, pick mother's outfit first and base everyone else's outfits around hers.

TIME OF DAY

All of my sessions are done outdoors.  I do not have a studio. I typically do my sessions at sunset. The lighting is most beautiful and soft at that time of day. Golden light is a photographer's best friend. The bright, midday sun is too harsh in photos casting dark shadows and causing squinty eyes. it can also be uncomfortable for children. I start my sessions thirty minutes to an hour before the scheduled sunset time. 

 

 

TRAVELING EXPENSES 

I do travel to shoot weddings. If it is a destination wedding meaning it is not in the area I live in, I do charge for gas up to 200 miles. I charge $.25 per mile. If the trip is more than 200 miles, I require a plane ticket roundtrip instead of gas. The price for traveling also includes my hotel lodging and rental car if I need to rent a car. Please keep that in mind if I am required to travel to shoot your special day. The traveling expenses (gas/plane and lodging) are not included in the fees of my wedding packages. I do not travel to do any other kind of session. If I know I'll be in your area, because I do travel a lot for other reasons, I will be more than happy to do a session for you.

ADVERTISEMENT

Please know that some of the photos taken in our sessions will be used for advertisement purposes either on my website, blog, Facebook, Instagram, or any other marketing for my business. Feel free to share any of the photos yourself on social media, but please give me recognition.
